HOURS AND LOCATION
After five years at 334 Broome St, P! is permanently closed.
MISSION AND HISTORY
P! was a free-wheeling combination of project space, commercial gallery, Mom-and-Pop-Kunsthalle, and exhibition-making machine that proposed an experimental space of display in which the radical possibilities of disparate disciplines, historical periods, and modes of production rubbed shoulders. Founded in 2012 by Prem Krishnamurthy, P! mounted over forty exhibitions and offsite projects from its headquarters on Broome Street. Over the course of its five year program, which included artists, designers, architects, composers, musicians, curators, writers, and more, the Chinatown storefront’s appearance, physical space, visual identity, and even name changed periodically. P! closed in May 2017.
The organization’s experimental mission and dedication to supporting varied forms of creative practice are realized through a combination of sales, grants, and charitable donations. If you enjoy our programs and would like to help, we encourage you to make a tax-deductible contribution that goes directly to supporting artist fees and project costs. Your donation — whether $10, $100, or $1000 — underwrites the tireless programming that you’ve come to expect from us. Please donate now!
P! is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the charitable purposes of P! must be made payable to “Fractured Atlas” only and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. We appreciate your generous support.
